Why You Need To Keep Your Mental Health Intact
Mental health is something that we as a society take way too lightly. We all go through various different trials and tribulations that can bring an extreme mental toll on us. Keeping things bottled up inside, is very unhealthy to do and is what leads to people experiencing mental breakdowns or worse suicide. It is vital that we all have an outlet or outlets, where we can release all that is weighing on and consuming our minds, in a safe and healthy way.
People always associate various different negative connotations with mental health; coupled with them making tasteless jokes as well. For instance, if a person goes to see a therapist weekly, he/she is viewed instantly as being “crazy”, which is so far from the truth. I know people who go to a therapist simply just to always have a safe and secure place, where they can let it all out and recharge their mind.
We don’t put enough emphasis on why it is so important that we keep our mental health intact. Life is always throwing different curve balls our way that can make us want to either pull out our hair, break some shit, run away or end our life altogether. Juggling school and work full-time, for example, can for sure be a great toll on one’s mental health, I know so firsthand. Having a place, you can go to like your favorite park that brings you serenity, talking to a therapist that gives you techniques on how to relax and clear your mind and/or talking to a friend that always knows how to help you put things into perspective, are just a few great ways that can help keep your mental health intact.
Another problem people have with avoiding keeping their mental health intact, is they think they appear weak if they can’t handle all that they feel that have to. We have got to get out of that mindset of thinking that we always have to so strong like titanium. Being able to handle heavy demands while pretending you can so you don’t appear otherwise, will for sure eventually lead to you breaking down. Everyone needs mental relaxation to recharge and admitting you need one, does not make you weak but shows how you are, in fact, human.
If you are currently dealing with major life stresses and demands, take the time you need to relax and recharge your mind as well your body. Keeping your mental health intact should and needs, to always come first!
