The 10th Annual College Sports Media Awards (CSMAs) are almost here, according to a recent press release. The entry period for nominations for this prestigious contest just opened February 1 and closes on April 23, 2018! Not sure how to apply or if your student qualifies? Read on!

The College Sports Media Awards (CSMAs) are produced annually by two leading college sports and sports production associations, The Sports Video Group (SVG) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). Going into its tenth year and with more than 6,000 members, the Sports Video Group “has served as an industry advocate for professional and college-sports-video creators, producers, and distributors.” The largest association of collegiate athletics administrators, NACDA boasts “…a membership of more than 12,500 individuals and more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.”

These awards are meant to honor and celebrate college students who have a passion for college sports video editing and production and who is making great strides to already establish themselves in the field. On May 31, winners and finalists will be honored amidst the 2018 SVG College Sports Summit at the CNN Center in Atlanta, GA.

There are many different divisions and categories that passionate students can apply under. These include National Networks; Regional/Local Networks, Syndicators, and Production Companies; Collegiate Athletics; and Collegiate Student for divisions, and Live Game Production; Live Non-Game Production; Program Series; Special Feature; Promotion Video: Hype, Open, Tease, PSA, or Marketing Campaign for categories.

New to this year’s CSMAs, the awards are now accepting entries that were designed primarily for social media distribution, both live and pre-produced. This includes live games or live non-game productions intended for airing on Facebook Live, Periscope, etc. In addition to this, they are also launching a new gallery website that features past CSMA winners and nominees, in order to supply entrants and future generations of college-sports-video creators an annual resource of creativity and production ideas. Visit the new site at www.collegesportsmediaawards.com.

The deadline to enter this year’s competition is April 23, 2018, so do not miss out on your opportunity! Learn more about the competition and the submission guidelines at www.collegesportsmediaawards.com/csma/.
